About The Position

The Starbucks Lead works in Hy-Vee’s store coffee shop, serving customers and supporting the department’s daily operations. The role involves preparing and replenishing coffee shop products, taking orders in person and by phone, answering customer questions, handling payments, maintaining product freshness, and keeping the work area clean and properly stocked. The position also includes receiving product, reviewing invoices, removing trash, following food-safety and company standards, and assisting other store areas or special projects as needed. No prior experience is required; training and support are provided.

Requirements

Follow written and verbal instructions.
Use basic math skills, including simple addition, subtraction, counting, and recording.
Communicate clearly and helpfully with customers and teammates.
Stay organized and keep up with a busy coffee shop environment.
Less than a high school diploma or equivalent experience accepted.

Nice To Haves

Up to six months of similar or related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and provide helpful, friendly service.
Take customer orders at the counter and over the phone, help customers find products, and answer questions.
Prepare and replenish coffee shop products throughout the shift.
Monitor product freshness and appearance and follow or develop a production list.
Handle food safely and keep the work area clean, neat, and up to department standards.
Check in and put away product and review invoices as needed.
Operate the department register and process payments where applicable.
Remove trash promptly and maintain a tidy department.
Work with teammates to provide a smooth, positive customer experience.
Follow the company dress code, hygiene standards, and policies.
Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed.
