The Staffing Coordinator ensures appropriate daily staffing of nursing units at Adventist Health Sierra Vista. The role anticipates staffing needs, works to fill vacant shifts using internal staff and external supplemental staffing agencies, and enters accurate census, acuity, and staffing information into the scheduling system to generate daily reports. It also includes clerical, reception, and general office duties, while fostering sensitivity to nurses’ needs as patient-care staffing is arranged. The coordinator oversees small programs with limited budget or impact. The position creates and updates daily staffing sheets and working master schedules, coordinates with bed control to ensure required assignments are staffed, and maintains employee contact information and staff qualification lists for designated areas. It also maintains attendance, on-call, and float records; processes leave requests; and enters data into the payroll system. Other job-related duties may be assigned. A high school education or GED (or equivalent) is required. An associate’s or technical degree, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience, is preferred. Adventist Health requires associates to receive required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter where applicable; medical and religious exemptions may apply.
