Staff Product Manager

Charta Health•San Francisco, CA
•$250,000 - $300,000•Onsite

About The Position

Charta Health is seeking a Staff Product Manager to lead the development of its platform, including infrastructure, APIs, and self-serve tooling. This role is crucial for transforming complex customer builds into scalable, repeatable products. The Staff Product Manager will collaborate with software engineers, forward-deployed engineers, sales, and customers to translate intricate customer needs into scalable platform capabilities that drive company growth. The position involves leading platform strategy across various customer verticals, establishing the necessary infrastructure, standards, and self-serve tools for efficient and predictable scaling. This role acts as a liaison between bespoke customer builds and core platform capabilities, identifying opportunities to productize common integration and workflow patterns to create leverage across teams and prevent the accumulation of one-off customization work. It's a high-trust, high-impact position within a team that values ownership, focusing on translating patterns across customer segments into durable platform capabilities to enhance roadmap efficiency and reduce delivery times for future customers.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years in product management, forward deployed engineering, or a hybrid customer-facing technical role, ideally with real ownership of platform, API, or integrations work
  • Proven ability to translate customer complexity into modular, scalable platform solutions rather than repeated bespoke builds
  • Experience building platform or infrastructure products with GTM alignment (pricing, packaging, strategy)
  • Strong technical fluency, allowing for deep collaboration with engineers on architecture, system tradeoffs, and building scalable infrastructure
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills to align stakeholders across functions
  • Bias for action and ownership; thrives in ambiguity and can drive clarity through structured thinking

Nice To Haves

  • Turn ambiguity into clarity. You translate customer signals and workflows into clear product direction that balances user needs and technical constraints
  • See patterns in the noise. You cut through scattered customer feedback, regulatory shifts and and market signals to prioritize product features
  • Build cross-functional trust. You communicate clearly across teams and navigate technical and strategic discussions with confidence
  • Drive alignment with precision. You break down complex inputs into actionable product specs that keep engineering, deployment, and leadership on the same page
  • Want to build from zero to one. As our first PM, you’ll shape how we scale across verticals, streamline onboarding, and define the future of our product
  • Understand how things fit together. You’re fluent in technical tradeoffs, configuration design, and how infrastructure maps to user value

Responsibilities

  • Own the platform and infrastructure roadmap underpinning our core business units
  • Own the lifecycle of key platform initiatives from inception to launch, including internal tooling that helps engineering build, ship, and deploy more consistently
  • Gather technical requirements from strategic customer deployments to inform what gets built into the platform versus what stays bespoke
  • Define business models, pricing packages, and commercial standards for platform and API-driven offerings
  • Make build-vs-buy and build-vs-partner calls on infrastructure and integrations
  • Help steer the growth of our product and engineering organization as platform needs scale

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, and more
  • Team dinners and snacks in the office to keep you at your best
  • Growth opportunities in a fast-paced, innovative tech startup
  • Ongoing professional development and access to cutting-edge AI and healthcare tools
  • Wellness & learning stipends so you can invest in both your health and personal growth
  • Lively in-person (required 5 days per week) work culture at our headquarters in downtown San Francisco
  • $250,000 - $300,000 USD depending on experience + equity + benefits
  • Annual performance based bonus up to 30%
