Basis
•$119,051 - $173,000

About The Position

Basis is hiring a Senior Technical Product Manager focused on Identity to guide product direction and feature development across its advertising technology platform. The role focuses on identity graphs and identity spine, audiences, and measurement, and involves determining which customer problems are worth solving and defining the rationale and solution space for product work. The Product Manager owns specifications for platform-level capabilities, including requirements that account for cross-system complexity, downstream application effects, and operational and technical considerations across the Basis ecosystem. The role also involves hands-on validation of complex or ambiguous proposals through proof-of-concept testing, data analysis, and close engineering engagement; aligning engineering on technical decisions and priorities; and delivering enhancements involving external partners or other internal product teams. The position establishes monitoring for identity and audience features, communicates roadmaps and plans to other teams, and creates reusable documentation describing campaign and customer data across the ecosystem. It works continuously with QA to improve Platform validation. Basis offers flexible work options across the U.S. and Canada, including remote, hybrid, or on-site work at its Chicago headquarters.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of product management experience in ad tech, identity, or martech platform-focused products.
  • Strong technical understanding of identity and addressability signals, including MAIDs, cookies, and common industry identity frameworks such as UID2.
  • Expertise in identity resolution, including matching strategies, coverage and accuracy trade-offs, and measurement impact.
  • Take responsibility for product success and measure performance accordingly.
  • Experience writing detailed product and technical specifications.
  • Ability to work with engineers on technical design trade-offs involving platforms, frameworks, scalability, and performance.
  • Experience with the full development cycle or projects in a fast-paced workplace.
  • Resourceful and self-reliant, with an ability to work without monopolizing existing Product team resources.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with relational databases and SQL.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to engage a team in reaching solutions.
  • Commitment to creating inclusive, respectful environments where all voices are valued and supported.
  • Thoughtful collaboration, design, and decision-making that prioritizes equity, access, and continuous learning.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building identity products for AdTech or MarTech and knowledge of relevant regional and state privacy regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA, COPPA, and ATT.
  • Understanding of operating-system and network fundamentals, such as browser request lifecycle, mobile and desktop operating systems, and network protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Propose product and feature direction for Platform areas, supported by a clear rationale, and identify problems worth solving, with a focus on identity graphs and identity spine, audiences, and measurement.
  • Own feature specifications for Platform-level capabilities, accounting for cross-system complexity, downstream application impacts, and operational and technical considerations across the Basis ecosystem.
  • Validate complex or ambiguous feature proposals through proof-of-concept testing, data analysis, and direct engagement with engineering; establish standards for this work.
  • Align engineering on technically complex features and Platform decisions, challenge assumptions, resolve trade-offs, and ensure development capacity is allocated to the right priorities.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities with external partners and internal product teams, determine what to build and on what terms, and own delivery of enhancements end-to-end.
  • Establish monitoring for identity- and audience-related features, including match rates and identity stability.
  • Provide other teams with clarity on the roadmap and product plans.
  • Create artifacts describing the campaign and customer data ecosystem to support clear communication across leadership, product, design, and engineering and build a reusable knowledge base.
  • Work continuously with QA to enhance the type and coverage of Platform validation.
