Nex•San Jose, CA

About The Position

Nex is hiring a senior individual contributor to own its global events program, with no direct reports. The role covers trade shows, industry conferences, press events, influencer pop-ups, and consumer and community events in the United States and internationally. Events are intended to put Nex Playground in people’s hands and create memorable experiences for press, partners, creators, and families. The position leads event agencies and production resources and works closely with PR, Design, and the broader marketing team. Approximately half of the events are in the United States and half internationally, with significant travel throughout the year. The manager will set the global events strategy and calendar, select events based on launch plans, brand goals, and international expansion, define event goals, manage the budget, and measure results. The role plans Nex’s presence at major consumer technology, gaming, and toy industry shows; oversees booth concepts, demos, meeting programs, and on-site operations; and partners with PR on press events, product previews, and launches. It also develops influencer activations and consumer and community events, manages agencies, fabricators, and production vendors, and adapts events for international markets in coordination with local teams, PR agencies, and partners. Success means delivering a brand-building calendar of events that increases awareness of Nex Playground, generates exposure, earned media, and social reach, and supports international go-to-market initiatives. The role is expected to deliver high-quality execution within budget, engage relevant cross-functional stakeholders, and demonstrate how event impressions and reach contribute to marketing goals, KPIs, and tangible business and brand outcomes. The position is based in San Jose, California, on a hybrid basis. Nex employees may collaborate across time zones. Occasional travel may be required for company events, external meetings, and other business activities; this role specifically requires extensive travel, including international travel and travel around show schedules and weekends.
