Sprinter Van Service Technician
About The Position
Mercedes-Benz of Wilsonville, part of Swickard Auto Group, is hiring an experienced flat-rate technician to service Sprinter vans for commercial fleet and upfitter clients. The role focuses on accurate diagnosis, efficient turnaround, and high-quality repairs that minimize vehicle downtime for business customers. The technician diagnoses and repairs Sprinter systems using XENTRY/DAS and OEM procedures, conducts inspections and test drives, documents work, and keeps current with manufacturer service information. The position offers a flat-rate pay range of $30–$55 per hour depending on experience and qualifications, with paid Mercedes-Benz Sprinter training and certification support.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of flat-rate technician experience at a franchised dealership or commercial service center.
- Strong diagnostic skills and a low comeback rate.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Sprinter or commercial van technician experience is strongly preferred; experience with Mercedes-Benz, Ford Transit, Ram ProMaster, or comparable commercial van platforms is transferable.
Nice To Haves
- Mercedes-Benz or European-brand technician experience.
- Familiarity with XENTRY/DAS.
- Mercedes-Benz factory certifications.
- ASE certifications.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair Mercedes-Benz Sprinter systems, including engine, transmission, brakes, advanced electrical, suspension, HVAC, body systems, and upfitter-related components, using XENTRY/DAS and OEM diagnostic procedures.
- Service commercial and fleet customers, prioritizing accurate diagnosis and efficient turnaround.
- Perform multi-point inspections and develop repair plans; communicate findings clearly to service advisors to support timely customer authorization.
- Complete repairs to Mercedes-Benz factory specifications with speed and accuracy.
- Document diagnostic findings and completed work on repair orders.
- Stay current on Sprinter technical service bulletins, platform updates, and manufacturer repair procedures.
- Perform test drives to validate diagnoses and confirm repair quality before returning vehicles.
