Owner Operator - Sprinter/Cargo Van
About The Position
VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER is hiring owner-operators with Sprinter vans or cargo vans to work under a written independent contractor agreement. The company does not hire company drivers. Owner-operators can negotiate rates with dispatchers and receive load offers tailored to their preferences. The company states that it has a large number of loads and that its dispatchers have more than four years of experience and broker contacts. Rates listed for Sprinters are $0.85–$1.35 per mile for long miles in good areas and $0.85–$1.10 per mile for long miles in bad areas. Canada Sprinter rates are $1.25–$1.55 per mile. Payment is made within 3–5 business days; quick pay is available for a 3% fee. The stated workweek is Monday through Friday. The posting gives a minimum average monthly earnings figure of $8,000 or more, depending on the vehicle, willingness to work, payload, and Hazmat certificate or TSA/TWIC credentials.
Requirements
- Own a Sprinter van or cargo van.
- Be a U.S. citizen, resident, green card holder, or holder of work authorization.
- The owner-operator and their drivers must be at least 21 years old.
- The owner-operator and their drivers must be able to speak, understand, and read basic English.
- All drivers must be approved, accepted, and registered with VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER to accept a load.
- Have at least 6 months of driving experience.
- Sprinter vehicles must be model year 2016 or newer.
- Vehicles must have at least 4 straps and PPE.
- Remove all decals from the vehicle.
- Send the vehicle’s registration and insurance.

- Russian language skills are accommodated.
- Hazmat certificate or TSA/TWIC credentials are noted as factors affecting earnings.
Responsibilities
- Provide and operate an owner-owned Sprinter or cargo van.
- Discuss preferred load types with dispatchers and accept suitable load offers.

- Provide the vehicle’s registration and insurance.
- Inform the company before putting the vehicle on the road if making changes to it.
