About The Position

VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER is hiring Sprinter and cargo van owner-operators under a written independent contractor agreement. The company does not hire company drivers. Owner-operators may negotiate rates with dispatchers and receive load opportunities from dispatchers with more than four years of experience and broker contacts. Loads are personalized according to the operator’s preferences. The posting lists Sprinter rates of $0.85–$1.35 per mile for long miles in good areas, $0.85–$1.10 per mile for long miles in bad areas, and $1.25–$1.55 per mile in Canada. Payments are made within 3–5 business days; quick pay is available for a 3% fee. The stated working days are Monday through Friday. The posting states a minimum average monthly salary of $8,000 or more, depending on the vehicle, willingness to work, payload, and Hazmat certificate or TSA/TWIC credentials.

Requirements

• Own a Sprinter or cargo van.
• Be a U.S. citizen, resident, green card holder, or work authorization holder.
• The owner-operator and drivers must be at least 21 years old.
• The owner-operator and drivers must speak, understand, and read basic English; Russian speakers are also hired.
• All drivers must be approved, accepted, and registered with VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER to accept a load.
• Sprinter vehicles must be 2016 or newer.
• Vehicles must have at least four straps and PPE, and all decals must be removed.
• Provide vehicle registration and insurance.
• Have at least six months of driving experience.
• Execute a written independent contractor agreement as an owner-operator.

• Hazmat certificate or TSA/TWIC credentials may affect the stated average monthly earnings.

Responsibilities

• Provide and operate your own Sprinter or cargo van for loads.
• Discuss preferred load types with dispatchers and accept suitable loads.
• Ensure drivers are approved, accepted, and registered with VICTORIA LOGISTICS CARRIER before accepting a company load.
• Provide vehicle registration and insurance.
• Inform the company before putting the vehicle on the road if making changes to it.
