About The Position

ODYSSEIA Inc. is seeking independent contractors with eligible cargo vans, Sprinter vans, or box trucks to transport freight in Michigan and across the United States and Canada, subject to route and load availability. Loads are offered and managed through the company’s app, where contractors can review details such as pickup and delivery locations, mileage, weight, and rate before deciding whether to accept. There is no forced dispatch, and the agreement is non-exclusive. Contractors can choose from local, regional, and over-the-road routes that fit their availability. Freight is no-touch, meaning drivers are not required to load or unload, subject to load-specific requirements. Compensation is $1.20 per loaded mile for local loads and $0.90–$1.00 per loaded mile for long-haul loads, depending on distance and lane. Detention pay is $30 per hour and layover pay is $150 per night. Payments are made weekly on Thursdays and Fridays.

Requirements

At least one year of driving experience.
Provide a driving record.
Use a 2016 or newer cargo van or Sprinter van; rental vehicles are not accepted.
Cargo van or Sprinter van must have minimum cargo space of 120 × 50 × 50 inches (length × width × height).
Box trucks must be 12–14 feet and under 10,000 lbs GVW.
Vehicle must not display decals, stickers, or company logos.
Install and use MacroPoint and Trucker Tools.
Commercial auto liability insurance of $1,000,000.
Motor truck cargo insurance of $100,000, with a maximum deductible of $1,000.

Responsibilities

Transport accepted freight loads between designated pickup and delivery locations.
Review load details in the company app and accept loads that fit the contractor’s availability.
Install and use MacroPoint and Trucker Tools tracking apps.
Provide a driving record.
