About The Position

Odyssea is seeking independent contractors operating cargo vans, Sprinter vans, or qualifying box trucks to transport freight in Michigan and across the United States and Canada, subject to route and load availability. Loads are offered and managed through the company app, where contractors can review pickup and delivery locations, mileage, weight, rate, and other details before deciding whether to accept. There is no forced dispatch, and the agreement is non-exclusive. Contractors can choose local, regional, and over-the-road routes that fit their availability. Freight is no-touch, with no loading or unloading required by the driver, subject to load-specific requirements.

Rates are $1.20 per loaded mile for local loads and $0.90–$1.00 per loaded mile for long-haul loads, depending on distance and lane. Detention pay is $30 per hour, and layover pay is $150 per night. Payments are made weekly, every Thursday and Friday. Drivers must provide their own qualifying vehicle and insurance and install and use MacroPoint and Trucker Tools. No separate MC authority is required.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of driving experience.
• A 2016-or-newer cargo van or Sprinter van; rental vehicles are not accepted.
• Cargo space of at least 120" × 50" × 50" (L × W × H), or a 12–14 ft box truck under 10,000 lbs GVW.
• Provide a driving record.
• The van must not have decals, stickers, or company logos.
• Install and use MacroPoint and Trucker Tools.
• Commercial Auto Liability insurance of $1,000,000.
• Motor Truck Cargo insurance of $100,000, with a maximum deductible of $1,000.
