About The Position

TruePoint Communications is seeking a self-motivated Spring Public Relations Intern to assist with public relations and social media functions and experience the day-to-day work of a fast-paced agency. The role supports client visibility through varied content, media relations, social-channel support, research, and reporting. Candidates must reside in Dallas, Texas. The position pays $15 per hour and is 40 hours per week.

Requirements

• Must reside in Dallas, Texas.
• Strong writing and proofreading skills.
• Understanding of media relations, what makes news, and current events.
• Understanding of the business use of popular social media channels, including Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, and LinkedIn, and ability to interpret and summarize data.
• Strong research skills and ability to summarize large amounts of data into digestible takeaways.
• Knowledge and use of AP Style writing.
• Experience creating news releases, pitches, and other media materials.
• Ability to meet deadlines promptly and effectively, prioritize assignments, and adapt to changing client needs.
• Great attention to detail, enthusiasm, organization, multitasking ability, and desire to be a team player.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work individually.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

• Previous relevant internship experience.
• Knowledge of SEO and SEM.

Responsibilities

• Support the PR and Social Media teams.
• Update and maintain media lists.
• Develop and post news releases.
• Create content for client social channels.
• Monitor and moderate client social channels, including online reputation management.
• Track analytics and support results reporting.
• Compile industry research and insights.
