About The Position

The Sports Bar Server provides prompt, friendly, and courteous food and beverage service to sports bar guests and maintains the overall appearance of the sports bar. The role includes handling cash and credit card payments, taking orders, and delivering attentive service in a high-volume environment. The server follows opening and closing checklists, completes side work, and complies with internal food and beverage policies and applicable departmental, casino, and regulatory policies. The position involves frequent guest and team-member contact and work in a dimly lit, potentially smoky and noisy setting.

Requirements

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
At least one year of experience in a high-volume, high-pressure restaurant or food service environment.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily and understand and comply with departmental and company rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Must successfully pass a drug screen and Tribal Gaming Commission requirements.
Louisiana Responsible Vendors Server Permit.
Ability to work in a dimly lit, smoky, loud environment.
Ability to stand for extended periods and tolerate extensive background noise while maintaining calmness.
Ability to lift, push, or pull at least 30 pounds.
Ability to work in a small work area with heavy production and varying temperatures.
Regular, consistent attendance is required.

Responsibilities

Acknowledge and greet all guests.
Describe specials and menu items to guests.
Use the MICROS/POS system.
Know cocktails and drinks and ensure drink orders are called correctly.
Complete shift opening and closing checklists.
Perform necessary side work, pre-shift work, and shift-completion tasks.
Handle VIP guests according to internal Food & Beverage policies.
Follow regulatory, departmental, and casino policies and procedures.
Maintain safety, cleanliness, and customer service standards.
Serve food and beverages appropriately.
Monitor tables in the assigned station for service and bussing.
Promote positive customer relations and create a friendly atmosphere.
Communicate with staff and guests verbally and in writing.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Multitask calmly, including during high-volume activity and payment transactions.
Anticipate and provide upbeat, positive guest service.
Handle cash and credit card payments and use basic money-handling and mathematics skills.
Take orders efficiently.
Perform other duties as assigned.
