About The Position

Perform general support functions within the Specimen Processing Department. Execute tasks including A-station, presort, and pickup and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory. Handle imaging, microfilming, centrifugation, and aliquoting of specimens. Ensure all functions are performed with confidence, accuracy, and in a timely manner. Organize and understand specimen types related to tests ordered. Maintain knowledge of compliance regulations related to test ordering. Adhere to productivity and quality standards and departmental completion times. Follow core values, safety, and compliance policies and procedures. Keep work area neat and clean.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of computers.
  • Ability to enter 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour.
  • Ability to work in a biohazard environment while practicing safety habits.
  • Flexibility to work nightshifts, weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster a positive environment.
  • Ability to adapt to change and follow compliance regulations.
