About The Position

Earth Fare Team Members help customers have a fulfilling store visit by answering questions and meeting their shopping needs. The company’s mission is to help people live healthy lives, and Team Members guide customers toward trusted healthy foods and other high-standard products for wellbeing and the household.

The Specialty Clerk provides customer service in the Specialty department and Charcuterie counter, including slicing specialty meats and cheeses. The role maintains product stock and ordering levels, department cleanliness and organization, and an attractive sales floor according to Earth Fare merchandising guidelines. The clerk also verifies signage and pricing and assists the Specialty Manager with inventory counts.

Requirements

• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Able to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and squat.
• Able to push, pull, and maneuver heavy loads.
• Able to stand and remain on one's feet during the workday.

Nice To Haves

• Previous food preparation experience.
• Knowledge of specialty meats, cheeses, coffees, wines, and beers.
• Knowledge of industry trends and common allergies and specialized dietary terms, including gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian.
• Experience in a retail or customer service-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service in the Specialty department and at the Charcuterie counter.
• Slice specialty meats and cheeses for customers.
• Maintain appropriate stock and ordering levels for wines, beers, coffees, cheeses, meats, and fresh pastas on the sales floor and in back stock.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of department fixtures, storage areas, workstations, freezers, and coolers.
• Maintain an attractive sales floor according to Earth Fare merchandising guidelines and the Specialty Manager’s direction.
• Verify item signage and pricing.
• Assist the Specialty Manager with inventory counts.
