Specialty Clerk - Earth Fare Roanoke
About The Position
Earth Fare Team Members help customers have a fulfilling store visit by answering questions and meeting their shopping needs. They guide customers in selecting healthy food and trusted products for wellbeing and the household. The Specialty Clerk provides customer service in the department and at the Charcuterie counter, including slicing specialty meats and cheeses. The role also maintains product stock, department cleanliness and organization, and an attractive, accurately signed and priced sales floor. The position is full-time at Earth Fare Roanoke in Roanoke, Virginia, with a stated hourly pay range of $15.00–$16.00.
Requirements
- Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Be able to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and squat.
- Be able to push, pull, and maneuver heavy loads.
- Be able to stand and remain on one's feet during the workday.
Nice To Haves
- Previous food preparation experience.
- Knowledge of specialty meats, cheeses, coffees, wines, and beers.
- Knowledge of industry trends, common allergies, and specialized dietary terms such as gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian.
- Experience in a retail or customer service-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service in the department and at the Charcuterie counter.
- Slice specialty meats and cheeses for customers.
- Maintain appropriate stock and ordering levels for wines, beers, coffees, cheeses, meats, and fresh pastas on the sales floor and in back stock.
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of department fixtures, storage, workstations, freezers, and coolers.
- Maintain an attractive sales floor in accordance with Earth Fare merchandising guidelines.
- Verify that items have proper signage and pricing.
- Assist the Specialty Manager with inventory counts.
