About The Position

At DICK’S Sporting Goods, the Specialist Apparel helps create an engaging, confidence-building shopping experience by connecting athletes with apparel for performance and everyday wear. The role combines product and merchandise expertise with strong customer service to drive results and bring style, comfort, and performance together. Team members are expected to support an inclusive store environment and deliver exceptional experiences to athletes of all abilities.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
1–3 years of experience.

Previous retail or customer-facing experience.

Responsibilities

Proactively engage athletes to understand their shopping needs and provide a world-class shopping experience.
Provide clear, accurate, and knowledgeable information about products and assortment.
Anticipate athlete needs and drive sales through product and service recommendations grounded in an understanding of those needs.
Assist with onboarding and training new and existing team members as a subject matter expert, focusing on best practices, selling skills, and key operational processes.
Serve as a go-to expert in designated process categories to support smooth execution and high productivity.
Execute processes efficiently and effectively while maintaining an athlete-first mindset, ensuring products are ready for purchase and athletes are engaged in the way they want.
Uphold merchandising and presentation standards, including floor set plans, signage, price changes, inventory presentation, and replenishment.
Promote customer participation in company programs, including the customer loyalty program, warranty sales, and private-label credit card enrollment.
Help create a store environment where teammates and athletes are welcome and treated with respect.
Follow company safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures, as well as applicable external laws and guidelines.
