About The Position

Brightmont Academy is hiring a part-time Special Education Instructor to provide one-to-one instruction to students in grades 1–12. The instructor uses the provided APEX Learning curriculum and provides accommodations and modifications based on each student’s IEP. The role focuses on supporting the individual student in the classroom; a case manager handles most administrative duties. Experience working with students in ASD, ED, and/or SLD programs is considered ideal.

Brightmont Academy’s one-to-one teaching model emphasizes tailoring instruction to students’ needs and learning styles and guiding them toward mastery through a gradual-release approach. Lesson planning, parent conferences, and grading are not part of the expected workload. Professional development opportunities are available.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• LBS1 certification.
• Patience and empathy when supporting students with different learning needs.
• Genuine passion for teaching.
• Proficiency using G-Suite and learning management software (LMS).
• Ability to provide fingerprints in Arizona or Washington, where applicable, and pass a federal background check.

• Experience working in ASD, ED, and/or SLD programs.
