Part Time Special Education Instructor
About The Position
Brightmont Academy is hiring a part-time Special Education Instructor to provide one-to-one instruction to students in grades 1–12. The instructor uses the provided APEX Learning curriculum and delivers accommodations and modifications based on each student’s IEP. The role focuses on supporting the individual student in the classroom; a case manager handles most administrative duties. Brightmont Academy’s teaching model emphasizes personalized instruction, a gradual-release approach that builds student confidence and academic success, and a flexible schedule. Lesson planning, parent conferences, and extensive grading are not part of the role. Professional development opportunities are available.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- LBS1 certification.
- Patience and empathy in supporting students with different learning needs.
- Genuine passion for teaching.
- Proficiency using G-Suite and learning management software (LMS).
- Ability to provide fingerprints in Arizona or Washington, if applicable, and pass a federal background check.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in ASD, ED, and/or SLD programs.
