Part Time Special Education Instructor
About The Position
Brightmont Academy is hiring a part-time Special Education Instructor to provide one-to-one instruction to students in grades 1–12. The instructor uses the provided APEX Learning curriculum and applies accommodations and modifications based on each student’s IEP. The role focuses on supporting the individual student in the classroom; a case manager handles most administrative duties. Brightmont’s one-to-one teaching model lets instructors tailor instruction to students’ needs and learning styles and guide them toward mastery through a gradual-release approach. Lesson planning, parent conferences, and extensive grading are not required. The academy offers professional development opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience in special education.
- Patience and empathy in supporting students with different learning needs.
- Genuine passion for teaching.
- Proficiency using G-Suite and learning management software (LMS).
- Ability to provide fingerprints in Arizona or Washington, where applicable, and pass a federal background check.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in ASD, ED, and/or SLD programs.
