Part Time Special Education Instructor
About The Position
Brightmont Academy is hiring a part-time Special Education Instructor to provide one-to-one instruction to students in grades 1–12. The instructor uses the provided APEX Learning curriculum and makes accommodations and modifications based on each student’s IEP. The role focuses on working directly with the individual student in the classroom; a case manager handles most administrative duties. Brightmont Academy’s one-to-one teaching model uses a gradual-release approach to guide students toward mastery and build confidence. The position does not require lesson planning, parent conferences, or grading. Professional development opportunities are available.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- LBS1 certification.
- Patience and empathy in supporting students with different learning needs.
- Genuine passion for teaching.
- Proficiency using G-Suite and Learning Management Software (LMS).
- Ability to provide fingerprints in Arizona or Washington and pass a federal background check.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in ASD, ED, and/or SLD programs.
