•$180,000 - $220,000

About The Position

Middesk is hiring an Enterprise Solutions Engineer to own the technical win on its largest and most complex opportunities, including banks, large fintechs, payment platforms, lenders, and other regulated institutions. The role acts as a trusted advisor to prospects by understanding their compliance programs, risk appetite, onboarding and decisioning architecture, and existing vendors and systems. The Solutions Engineer designs enterprise-scale integrations, leads technical diligence and evaluations, and builds business cases for executive sponsors. The role also contributes beyond individual sales opportunities by translating enterprise requirements and competitive intelligence into product roadmap input, creating reusable enterprise sales assets, and mentoring other Solutions Engineers. It reports to the Director of Solutions Engineering and operates in a high-growth, execution-driven environment.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years in a pre-sales or customer-facing technical role, including at least 3 years primarily working on enterprise deals.
  • A proven record of technical wins with large financial institutions or regulated enterprises, with sales cycles of six months or more and evaluation committees spanning multiple functions.
  • Experience selling or supporting B2B SaaS products with API-first or data-centric integrations at enterprise scale.
  • Strong working knowledge of APIs, webhooks, data workflows, and SQL; ability to read and debug integrations, explore and evaluate datasets, and discuss scale, latency, failover, and data handling with engineering and architecture teams.
  • Experience leading formal proofs of concept and competitive bake-offs with defined success criteria and defending results to technical and compliance reviewers.
  • Experience owning large RFP responses, security reviews, and third-party risk management assessments for enterprise buyers.
  • Working knowledge of KYB, CIP, BSA/AML, beneficial ownership, sanctions screening, and ongoing monitoring requirements, or a closely related compliance domain.
  • Executive presence and ability to present to C-level sponsors and steering committees, build a business case, and hold a position under scrutiny.
  • Ability to manage a small number of complex, high-value deals in parallel with rigor.
  • A competitive, action-oriented approach to winning complex deals, resolving ambiguous requirements, and finding a path forward.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience at a business identity, KYB/KYC, fraud, or risk data vendor.
  • Familiarity with bank third-party risk management, model risk management, and regulatory expectations for vendor due diligence.
  • Experience with onboarding, case management, or core platforms common at banks and large fintechs.
  • Experience building enterprise sales enablement, including reference architectures, evaluation frameworks, and repeatable technical sales processes.
  • Willingness to travel for on-site workshops and executive meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical win on enterprise deals in partnership with Enterprise Account Executives across multi-month sales cycles; map evaluation committees, develop technical close plans, resolve objections, build champions, and align technical and commercial workstreams.
  • Scope and lead structured proofs of concept with defined success criteria, support large-scale data evaluations, run competitive bake-offs, and present defensible results to decision committees.
  • Design enterprise integration architectures for high-volume, regulated environments, including real-time and batch patterns, event-driven and webhook flows, orchestration across Middesk products, resilience and failover, monitoring, data retention and residency, environment strategy, and migration from incumbent providers.
  • Advise prospects on how Middesk fits into their broader onboarding and risk decisioning architecture.
  • Translate technical findings and evaluation results into business cases for executive sponsors, including Chief Compliance Officers, Heads of Risk, CTOs, and steering committees.
  • Document solution designs, technical commitments, contractual obligations, and stakeholder maps to ensure a clean handoff to Solutions Architecture and Implementation.
  • Represent enterprise prospect needs internally by synthesizing recurring requirements, feature gaps, and competitive intelligence and working with Product, Engineering, and Marketing on roadmap priorities and positioning.
  • Create reusable enterprise assets such as reference architectures, evaluation frameworks, and a security and diligence answer library.
  • Mentor other Solutions Engineers on enterprise deal execution.
