About The Position

At hyperexponential (hx), we are building an AI-powered platform to enable critical decisions in a $7 trillion industry, focusing on risk assessment and pricing. Our platform integrates data, AI, and human expertise to help insurers make faster, smarter decisions and confidently manage risk. We are backed by prominent investors and are scaling globally, serving nearly 50 of the world's largest insurers. Our core technology is AI, including a domain-specific AI peer programmer for insurance and agentic workflows. The company culture emphasizes impact, challenge, and discipline, fostering an environment where employees can do their best work. The Field Engineering (FENG) team is the technical backbone of our go-to-market strategy, operating at the intersection of product, sales, and customer success. This team is responsible for securing the "technical win" in sales opportunities by demonstrating the capabilities of the hx platform to demanding insurers. Solutions Architects on this team work with underwriters, actuaries, IT, and security leaders to design trustworthy solutions for critical pricing and underwriting decisions. They tackle complex integration and implementation challenges, requiring deep technical understanding, domain insight, and creativity. As a Solutions Architect, you will be a primary technical contact for prospects, shaping their understanding of the hx platform. You will act as the voice of IT, security, and infrastructure, translating between modern cloud architectures and legacy systems. This role involves high ownership, collaboration, and visibility, with work directly impacting revenue and product direction. You will partner closely with Sales and Product Engineering, serving as a trusted advisor throughout the sales cycle and beyond, ensuring customers realize the full value of hx's product suite.

Requirements

  • Supported with technical solution design and integration for complex B2B or enterprise software opportunities, ideally in data-heavy domains such as insurance, financial services, or adjacent regulated industries.
  • Run technical evaluations and POVs with multiple stakeholder groups (e.g. business, IT, security), successfully navigating RFP/RFI processes, due diligence, and technical Q&A to a clear “Tech Win”.
  • Designed, documented and positioned solution architectures within known patterns (e.g. APIs, event-driven integrations, identity and access management), clearly articulating assumptions, risks, and trade-offs.
  • Built and delivered tailored Proofs of Concept or Proof of Value that directly contributed to winning or expanding high-value accounts, ideally with measurable commercial impact.
  • Collaborated closely with Sales teams, using structured sales methodologies to align technical work with deal strategy, timing, and stakeholder influence.
  • Contributed to shared technical assets and standards – such as playbooks, reference diagrams, or demo environments – and used structured learning habits (enablement, shadowing, self-study) to quickly ramp up on new products or domains.

Nice To Haves

  • You prefer to follow a fixed, prescriptive playbook rather than dealing with ambiguity, evolving requirements, and messy legacy environments.
  • You’re uncomfortable being highly visible – with customers, internally with senior stakeholders, and in situations where the stakes (and expectations) are high.
  • You see yourself purely as either “sales” or “engineering” and don’t enjoy operating in the grey space between commercial outcomes, technical depth, and product thinking.
  • If reading our Culture Document leaves you feeling neutral rather than energised, hx may not be the place where you'll do your best work. We're building something that asks for commitment and conviction, and we want you to feel excited by the opportunity to grow with us.

Responsibilities

  • Accelerating the Tech Win by translating prospect requirements and legacy constraints into clear, actionable integration approaches aligned to our onboarding and integration playbooks.
  • Run focused, high-impact technical discovery and design workshops with underwriters, actuaries, and IT stakeholders to deeply understand their workflows and shape viable solution architectures.
  • Act as the trusted technical voice throughout the sales cycle, guiding stakeholders through RFPs, RFIs, due diligence, and security reviews to remove friction and keep deals moving.
  • Design, build, and present compelling POV (Proof of Value) materials, Proofs of Concept and demos that showcase hx Renew’s integration capabilities and how we can transform customers’ pricing and underwriting processes.
  • Partner with Product Engineering as “Customer Zero”, testing new features in real-world scenarios, surfacing edge cases, and feeding back insights that improve product quality and relevance.
  • Create and maintain reusable assets – from integration libraries and reference architectures to demo environments and technical presentations – that scale the impact of the Field Engineering team across multiple deals and regions.
