Sr. Solutions Architect (Pre Sales)

The Nielsen Company•New York, NY
•$151,000 - $280,000

About The Position

Nielsen is seeking an experienced, consultative sales professional to drive sales of Nielsen Bi-Directional (NRLD Enrichment). The product enables clients to combine first-party data with Nielsen Respondent Level Data (NRLD) in a privacy-safe clean-room environment and generate predictive audience scores across their customer database without raw data leaving the room. This strategic, high-visibility role focuses primarily on expanding existing Nielsen relationships. The successful candidate will build relationships, translate business questions into specific use cases, and guide multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles from discovery and proof of concept through signed, renewable engagements. The role requires the ability to explain the product's value and clean-room architecture to business, technical, legal, and privacy stakeholders. The position also involves interpreting complex business issues, recommending best practices, solving problems from a broad perspective, and potentially leading functional teams or projects. Employees outside India and the United States must be willing to serve as a local internal subsidiary director for in-country governance matters, with corporate support.

Requirements

  • 10–15 years of experience in consultative sales, pre-sales, or solutions consulting.
  • Recognized expertise in data clean rooms, identity resolution, and privacy-safe data matching and analytics.
  • Proven record of selling data, identity, measurement, or analytics solutions to media, streaming, advertising, or agency accounts.
  • Familiarity with technologies such as Snowflake clean rooms, Amazon Web Services infrastructure, SQL, identity resolution, and platforms such as LiveRamp.
  • Experience commercializing sophisticated identity and data-enrichment solutions.
  • Strong consultative selling skills, including the ability to open buyer conversations without a predetermined use case and translate business questions into technical use cases.
  • Ability to explain data clean rooms, identity resolution, privacy-safe matching, and predictive scoring at scale to business and technical stakeholders.
  • Experience navigating multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles, including engaging privacy, legal, and governance stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts, anticipate objections, and influence others to adopt a different point of view.
  • Ability to lead others in solving complex problems and use analytical thinking, tools, and judgment to identify innovative solutions.
  • Depth or breadth of expertise in a specialized area and general knowledge of related areas.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Specific familiarity with Respondent Level Data (RLD), first-party data integrations, and bi-directional audience expansion methodologies.
  • Familiarity with the media measurement and ad-tech landscape, including linear, streaming, digital, and audio, and awareness of competitors and methodology-based differentiation.
  • Advanced degree or specialized certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Own and grow strategic accounts, primarily by expanding existing Nielsen relationships.
  • Consult with clients to identify solutions and align the product with a specific, quantified business need.
  • Lead discovery to surface clients' economic questions, assess value at risk, and frame Bi-Directional as a solution to identified gaps.
  • Quantify ROI before signing, using a value-at-risk framework grounded in the client's data.
  • Scope and guide proof-of-concept engagements, agree on success metrics in writing before development, and convert proven results into signed, renewable commercial agreements.
  • Navigate enterprise sales cycles by mapping and engaging technical, commercial, financial, privacy, and governance stakeholders.
  • Explain the Compute-to-Data clean-room architecture to business, technical, and legal audiences, including that raw PII never leaves the room and only mathematical scores do.
  • Defend deals against in-house first-party data approaches, DIY clean rooms, and competitors using a discovery-first, methodology-based approach.
  • Position sports and other strategic-wedge accounts for their downstream pull-through value.
  • Interpret business issues and recommend best practices, taking a broad perspective to find innovative solutions.
  • Work independently, receive guidance in the most complex situations, and potentially lead functional teams or projects.
  • For employees outside India and the United States, serve as a local internal subsidiary director in governance matters if required.

  • 401(k) with a Nielsen company match.
  • Generous paid time off policy.
  • Depending on the role, a company-provided vehicle and/or discretionary incentive or bonus eligibility.
  • Potential eligibility for bonuses, equity, or other incentives.
