Sr. Solutions Architect (Pre Sales)

The Nielsen Company•New York, NY

About The Position

Nielsen is seeking an experienced, consultative sales professional to drive sales of Nielsen Bi-Directional (NRLD Enrichment), a privacy-safe solution that lets clients combine their first-party data with Nielsen Respondent Level Data (NRLD) in a clean-room environment and generate predictive audience scores across their customer databases without raw data leaving the room. The product is primarily sold as an expansion within existing Nielsen accounts. Success requires strong client relationships, communication skills, technical fluency, and the ability to turn business questions into valuable use cases and guide enterprise sales cycles from discovery through proof of concept to a signed, renewable engagement. The role owns and grows strategic accounts, consults with clients to identify quantified business needs, develops ROI and value-at-risk cases, and scopes proof-of-concept engagements with agreed success metrics. It requires explaining the Compute-to-Data clean-room architecture to business, technical, legal, and privacy stakeholders, and defending the solution against in-house approaches and competitors. The position may lead functional teams or projects and works independently, seeking guidance in the most complex situations. For employees outside India and the United States, the role also requires willingness to serve as a local internal subsidiary director in governance matters, with corporate support.

Requirements

  • 10–15 years of experience in consultative sales, pre-sales, or solutions consulting.
  • Recognized expertise in data clean rooms, identity resolution, and privacy-safe data matching and analytics.
  • A proven track record selling data, identity, measurement, or analytics solutions to media, streaming, advertising, or agency accounts.
  • Strong consultative selling skills, including the ability to open buyer conversations before a use case is fully defined and translate business questions into technical use cases.
  • Ability to explain data clean rooms, identity resolution, privacy-safe matching, and predictive scoring at scale to business and technical stakeholders.
  • Experience navigating multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles, including engaging privacy, legal, and governance stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts, anticipate objections, and influence others to adopt a different point of view.
  • Ability to lead others in solving complex problems and use analytical thinking, tools, and judgment to identify innovative solutions.
  • Depth or breadth of expertise in a specialized area and general knowledge of related areas.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Snowflake clean rooms, Amazon Web Services infrastructure, Structured Query Language, identity resolution, and platforms such as LiveRamp.
  • Experience commercializing sophisticated identity and data enrichment solutions.
  • Familiarity with Respondent Level Data (RLD), first-party data integrations, and bi-directional audience expansion methodologies.
  • Familiarity with the media measurement and ad-tech landscape, including linear, streaming, digital, and audio, and awareness of competitors and methodology-based differentiation.
  • Advanced degree or specialized certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Own and grow a book of strategic accounts, primarily expanding existing Nielsen relationships rather than pursuing net-new logos.
  • Consult with clients to identify solutions and align Bi-Directional to a specific, quantified business need.
  • Lead discovery to surface the client's economic question, assess value at risk, and frame Bi-Directional as a solution to the identified gap.
  • Quantify ROI before the client signs using value-at-risk calculations grounded in the client's own numbers.
  • Scope and guide proof-of-concept engagements, agree on written success metrics before implementation, and convert successful results into signed, renewable commercial agreements.
  • Navigate enterprise sales cycles by mapping and engaging technical, commercial, financial, and privacy/governance stakeholders, and surface governance stakeholders early.
  • Explain the Compute-to-Data clean-room architecture to business, technical, and legal audiences, including that raw PII does not leave the room and only mathematical scores do.
  • Defend deals against in-house first-party data approaches, DIY clean rooms, and competitors using a discovery-first, methodology-based approach.
  • Position sports and other strategic-wedge accounts for their downstream pull-through value as well as standalone revenue.
  • Interpret internal and external business issues, recommend best practices, and solve complex problems from a broad perspective.
  • Work independently, and potentially lead functional teams or projects.
  • For employees outside India and the United States, be willing to serve as a local internal subsidiary director representing the entity in-country in governance matters.

  • 401(k) with a Nielsen company match.
  • Generous paid time off policy.
  • Depending on the role, a company-provided vehicle and/or discretionary incentive or bonus eligibility may be available.
