About The Position

SRI Healthcare, LLC, a subsidiary of NOVO Health Services, is hiring a Soil Sorter for its healthcare laundry facility in Mebane, North Carolina. The role sorts and processes used healthcare linens and washable items, operates laundry equipment, and maintains a clean and disinfected work area. The position requires following Standard Operating Procedures, maintaining accurate records, meeting productivity standards, and communicating effectively with supervisors and coworkers. The position is full-time, on the first shift, Monday through Friday, with an eight-hour schedule. Work is performed in person.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

Open laundry carts and empty hamper bags onto the sorting table.
Sort linen by fabric type.
Accurately weigh sorted loads and send linen to washers through the negative air system.
Operate laundry equipment in automatic or manual mode.
Identify instruments, sharp items, hospital-owned linen, and other foreign objects, and place them in appropriate receptacles.
Place empty laundry carts in the cart wash and operate washing machinery.
Deposit instruments and other washable, returnable objects in a wash rack and process them through a dishwasher or commercial washer.
Wash stainless basins.
Clean and disinfect the soil sort area at the end of the shift.
Mentor and train fellow associates.
Perform other duties as assigned.
