About The Position

SRI Healthcare, LLC, a subsidiary of NOVO Health Services, provides sustainable reusable sterile packs and healthcare linens to hospitals. The Soil Sorter works at the company’s Mebane, North Carolina healthcare laundry facility. The role involves sorting soiled linen, operating laundry and washing equipment, identifying and separating foreign objects, maintaining records, and cleaning and disinfecting the work area. The position calls for someone who can make decisions confidently, work quickly, communicate effectively, and contribute to measurable performance and continuous improvement. Responsibilities

• Follow applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Open laundry carts and empty hamper bags onto the sorting table.
• Sort linen by fabric type.
• Accurately weigh sorted loads and send linen to washers through the negative air system.
• Operate laundry equipment in automatic or manual mode.
• Identify instruments, sharp items, hospital-owned linen, and other foreign objects and place them in appropriate receptacles.
• Place empty laundry carts in the cart wash and operate washing machinery.
• Place instruments and other washable, returnable objects in the wash rack and process them through a dishwasher or commercial washer; wash stainless basins.
• Clean and disinfect the soil sort area at the end of the shift.
• Mentor and train fellow associates.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
