About The Position

As a Smart Home Consultant on ADT’s Field Operations team, you’ll help residential customers design and set up smart security solutions tailored to their needs. The role combines in-home consultation and customer education with hands-on installation, system activation, and consultative sales. You’ll install and integrate security hardware, cameras, IoT devices, and smart home products; troubleshoot technical questions; and help customers use ADT’s app and product features. You’ll also build customer confidence through proactive support and identify upsell opportunities that can strengthen home protection.

The position includes three weeks of paid onboarding training, including New Technician Training, Field Safety Training, and Peer-to-Peer Training. A company vehicle is provided for work use. Pay is $15.30 per hour, with stated average annual earning potential of $105,000 through uncapped upsell commissions, job completion pay, quality bonuses, and referral incentives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; additional licensing may be needed based on location.
• Strong customer-focused communication skills.
• Technical aptitude with smart device ecosystems and connected technologies.
• Ability to understand how multiple products interact within a home network.
• Ability to advise customers on system design and setup to support their safety goals.
• Continuous learner who adapts to new tools and technologies.
• Ability to climb, lift 10 or more pounds, and work indoors and outdoors in varied conditions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver in-home consultations and assessments.
• Recommend smart home and security solutions based on customer goals.
