About The Position

As a Smart Home Consultant on ADT’s Field Operations team, you will help residential customers design and set up smart security solutions tailored to their needs. The role combines in-home consultation and hands-on installation with consultative sales. You will install and activate security hardware, cameras, IoT devices, and smart home products; integrate products with customers’ existing setups; and explain systems, apps, and features. You will also troubleshoot technical questions, support customer onboarding, and build customer confidence through proactive service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; additional licensing may be needed based on location.
• Strong customer-focused communication skills.
• Technical aptitude with smart device ecosystems and connected technologies.
• Ability to understand how multiple products interact within a home network.
• Ability to advise customers on system design and setup to support their safety goals.
• Ability to learn continuously and adapt to new tools and technologies.
• Ability to climb, lift 10 or more pounds, and work indoors and outdoors in varied conditions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver in-home consultations and assessments.
• Recommend smart home and security solutions based on customer goals.

• Integrate new products with the customer’s existing setup.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical questions.
• Complete customer onboarding and product education.
• Build long-term customer confidence through proactive support.
• Identify upsell opportunities that strengthen home protection.
