About The Position

The Slicing Support Operator supports overnight Fresh Kitchen production in Deerfield. Responsibilities include assembling and disassembling equipment; operating slicing equipment; following sanitation practices and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) to help ensure food safety; calculating production bin requirements; weighing, filling, folding, and labeling products; maintaining accurate bulk-product inventory; inspecting equipment and documenting inspections; reporting unsafe conditions or damage involving products, equipment, or the facility; and completing required paperwork. The operator also assists with daily production operations, including labeling product bins, and communicates production needs to other support areas. Other duties may be assigned. Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment, the bonus equals 15 hours of pay; in the second year, it equals one week’s pay; and in subsequent years, it equals two weeks’ pay. Eligibility requires remaining employed through the bonus check’s issue date. Weekend differential pay is $2.00 per hour for hours worked from midnight Saturday through 11:59 p.m. Sunday. A $0.75-per-hour night differential applies to associates regularly scheduled to work any hours between midnight and 3:00 a.m.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

Assemble and disassemble equipment.

Calculate bin requirements for production.
Accurately weigh, fill, and fold products.
Label bulk products and maintain accurate inventory.
Document equipment inspections and report unsafe conditions or damage to products, equipment, or the facility.
Complete all paperwork required for the position accurately.
Assist operators with daily production operations, including operating slicing equipment and labeling product bins.
Provide timely and accurate communication to other support areas about production needs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
