About The Position

Wesley Living is a faith-based organization that manages affordable senior living communities in the Memphis area and beyond. The Skilled Maintenance employee performs general and advanced maintenance work in and around the property, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry work. The role supports a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained home for senior residents, with an emphasis on dignity, patience, and respect. The employee ensures the development and execution of a preventative maintenance plan in conjunction with the property manager and in accordance with current policies and procedures. The position is full-time, based in Memphis, Tennessee, and pays from $20.00 per hour for 40 hours per week. Availability for after-hours emergencies is required.

Requirements

Valid driver's license.
High school diploma or GED.
At least 5 years of supervised experience in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work.
HVAC certification.

Nice To Haves

Journeyman status or equivalent in two skills.
Familiarity with computers and electronics.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and repairs, including plumbing, electrical work, HVAC troubleshooting, and basic carpentry.
Prepare vacant apartments for new residents, including painting, flooring repairs, and deep cleaning.
Conduct regular inspections of common areas and mechanical rooms to identify issues.
Maintain the property in compliance with local housing authority and HUD standards, fire codes, and safety regulations.
Respond to after-hours emergencies.
Interact patiently and respectfully with senior residents, including when entering their homes to perform repairs, while ensuring their comfort and privacy.
Develop and execute a preventative maintenance plan in conjunction with the property manager and in accordance with current policies and procedures.
