About The Position

LTC is seeking contracted Spanish-language interpreters who live within commuting distance of Memphis, Tennessee. Interpreters accept appointments on an as-needed basis and provide on-site, in-person interpretation. This is an independent contractor vendor role paid on an IRS Form 1099 basis; the interpreter is not an LTC employee. The ideal candidate has experience interpreting in a variety of settings, including medical, social work, education, and workplace environments.

Requirements

• Fluency in English and Spanish.
• At least 2 years of medical interpreting experience.
• At least 3 years of interpreting experience.
• Ability to keep accurate records.
• Live within commuting distance of Memphis, Tennessee.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site, in-person interpretation.
• Serve as a liaison using the client’s preferred language.
• Interpret accurately and appropriately for the setting and audience.
• Comply with state, local, and federal privacy and confidentiality laws and regulations regarding medical information, including HIPAA.
• Keep accurate records.
