About The Position

Propio Language Services is seeking remote Spanish contract interpreters for its on-demand PropioONE service. Interpreters provide consecutive, first-person interpretation and follow Propio and client protocols, policies, and procedures, including requirements related to confidentiality and interpreter ethics. They continually develop vocabulary and specialized subject-matter knowledge for client settings such as medical, legal, and social services. The role’s evaluation process aligns with interpreting standards defined by the National Council on Interpreting in Health Care (NCIHC), the International Medical Interpreters Association (IMIA), and the California Healthcare Interpreters Association (CHIA).

Requirements

• Submit an updated resume in English at the time of application.
• Complete English Language Proficiency testing with a rating of “technical proficiency” (3 or higher on the nationally recognized ILR scale).
• Successfully complete a mock oral interpretation session and attain a passing score against 24 quality standards.
• Complete Propio’s online Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology Assessment with a passing score.
• Pass a full background check and security screen.
• Sign a commitment to confidentiality, adherence to ethics, and HIPAA compliance.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of interpreting experience.

Responsibilities
