About The Position

Metro Lighting assists customers with projects ranging from remodels and whole-house lighting to custom lighting design, retail, and corporate layouts. The company trains employees and provides American Lighting Association (ALA) certification, with multiple training events each year to keep staff current on industry developments. The role focuses on showroom sales and providing customers with attentive service and assistance. It is a full-time hourly retail sales position with variable weekly shifts, including weekends and potentially one evening per week until 7 p.m. The company aims to provide at least one full weekend off each month. Starting pay is $18.00 per hour, depending on experience, with eligibility for incentives based on specific business metrics.

Responsibilities

Sell associated products in the showroom.
Assist with promotions and advertisements.
Use catalogs or a computer to find replacement-part stock numbers and prices.
Advise customers on substitutions or modifications when a part is unavailable.
Fill customer orders from stock.
Prepare sales slips and receive payments.
Mark and store parts in the stockroom or designated area according to the established system; inventory stock may also be taken.
Keep the showroom neat and orderly.
On occasion, place new merchandise on display.
On occasion, receive, hang, remove, pack, and ship products.
