SHIFT SUPERVISOR (FULL TIME)
About The Position
The Shift Supervisor directs associates’ activities during a specific shift and oversees completion of assigned job expectations while maintaining policies and procedures. The role includes training associates, creating work schedules, evaluating performance, preparing reports, and helping ensure the unit meets quality, productivity, and safety expectations. The supervisor may mentor and develop employees and serve as a contact for employee complaints or time-off requests. This is a full-time position at KIPP Newark in Newark, New Jersey, scheduled Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Prior food safety certification is required. The stated pay range is $19.00 to $20.00 per hour. Because the work is in an educational facility, periods of reduced or no work may occur during school breaks and may be unpaid temporary layoffs; depending on business needs, year-round work at another location may be required.

Responsibilities
- Direct associates’ activities during an assigned shift and oversee completion of assigned job expectations while maintaining policy and procedure.
- Provide training and create work schedules.
- Evaluate workers’ performance, reward high performers, and discipline employees who fail to meet reasonable work standards.
- Prepare production or sales reports for management and ensure the unit meets quality, productivity, and safety expectations.
- Serve as a contact person for employees with complaints or requests for time off.
- Mentor and develop employees and encourage them to set goals and seek advancement within the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
