About The Position

Chartwells K-12 is hiring a full-time Shift Supervisor at KIPP Newark in Newark, New Jersey. The role directs associate activities during an assigned shift and oversees completion of job expectations while maintaining company policies and procedures. The position works Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. A prior food safety certification is required. The pay range is $19.00 to $20.00 per hour. Because the role provides services in an educational facility, there may be periods when work is not required, such as winter or summer breaks when food service needs decline or cease. These periods will be unpaid and treated as temporary layoffs. Depending on business needs, the associate may be required to work year-round, potentially at a different location during break periods. Chartwells K-12 provides dining programs for schools and aims to serve food students enjoy while supporting their health. The company is part of Compass Group, an equal opportunity employer. Responsibilities

Direct associates’ activities during an assigned shift and oversee completion of their job expectations while maintaining policy and procedure.
Provide training and create work schedules.
Evaluate workers’ performance, reward high performers, and discipline employees who do not meet reasonable work standards.
Prepare production or sales reports for management.
Ensure the unit meets expectations for quality, productivity, and safety.
Serve as the contact person for employee complaints or requests for time off.
Mentor and develop employees and encourage them to set goals and pursue advancement within the organization.
Perform other duties as assigned.
