About The Position

The Shift Leader is fully accountable for the profitable operation of a designated shift while following company guidelines and regulations. The role ensures the restaurant complies with applicable local, state, and federal requirements and that Firehouse Subs policies and procedures are understood, followed, and enforced. The Shift Leader leads the restaurant team in delivering guest service, food quality, and cleanliness standards while supporting the brand’s culture, mission, and vision. Working under the guidance of the General Manager, the Shift Leader assists with operational plans and company initiatives and participates in employee hiring, training, and discipline. The position also requires accurate and timely completion of required programs, reports, and legal documents, as well as professional representation of Firehouse Subs and effective communication with the General Manager or Owner. This franchise is independently owned and operated, and hiring decisions are made by the franchise restaurant.

Requirements

Able to work on their feet for up to 13 hours at a time.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

Operate the designated shift profitably within established guidelines for food cost, labor, controllable expenses, utilities, and sales growth.
Ensure compliance with applicable health, wage and hour, age restriction, fair employment, ADA, and other legal requirements.
Ensure knowledge, adherence, and enforcement of Firehouse Subs policies and procedures.
Lead the restaurant team in meeting standards for guest service, quality, and cleanliness while embracing the company culture, mission, and vision.
Assist the General Manager with coordinating and implementing current operations plans and company initiatives in a profitable and timely manner.
Participate in interviewing, hiring, training, and disciplining employees under the General Manager’s guidance.
Ensure required programs, reports, and legal documents are accurate, complete, and completed on schedule.
Participate in Public Safety Foundation initiatives.
Represent Firehouse Subs professionally and positively.
Communicate to the General Manager or Owner any issues that may affect the business.
Perform other duties assigned by the General Manager or Owner.
