About The Position

The Shift Lead is an experienced team member who performs complex, high-impact tasks to enhance the customer shopping experience and steps in for store leadership when needed. The role balances back-of-house administrative responsibilities with hands-on store operations in a fast-paced environment where team members contribute to stocking and store cleanliness. When serving as Shift Lead, the employee runs assigned shifts in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager, helping ensure smooth and efficient operations, supporting front-end flow, and responding to customer concerns. The position also carries out operational tasks involving inventory receiving, cold chain compliance, safe handling, price changes, returns processing, ordering, and timekeeping. The role is based at Lidl’s Belair Road store in Baltimore, Maryland. Starting pay is $19.50 per hour, with eligibility for a $3-per-hour premium on qualifying shifts.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn multiple roles quickly.
Effective, friendly, and professional communication skills.
Ability to multitask and adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to lift, carry, move, or slide products up to and in excess of 45 pounds and frequently reach above head height (10 or more inches).
Authorization to work in the United States.
Ability to obtain and maintain ServSafe certification.
Ability to obtain and maintain state-specific store alcohol licensing as needed.

Responsibilities

Uphold store standards for cleanliness, freshness, product availability, and customer service.
Run assigned shifts in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
Support front-end flow and respond to customer concerns as needed.
Carry out operational tasks including inventory receiving, cold chain compliance, safe handling, price changes, returns processing, ordering, and timekeeping procedures when acting as Shift Lead.
Follow stock-handling processes, including inventory receiving, write-offs, and returns, to support product availability and reduce shrink.
Encourage timely and accurate task completion by focusing on priorities and setting a strong example during the shift.
Flex between stocking, cleaning, promotional merchandising, and other operational responsibilities to meet store needs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
