About The Position

The Shift Lead is an experienced team member who performs complex, high-impact tasks to enhance the customer shopping experience and steps in for store leadership when needed. The role balances back-of-house administrative responsibilities with hands-on store operations in a fast-paced environment where team members contribute to stocking and store cleanliness. When serving as Shift Lead in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager, the employee runs assigned shifts and helps ensure smooth, efficient operations, supports front-end flow, and responds to customer concerns. The position also involves operational tasks such as inventory receiving, cold chain compliance, safe handling, price changes, returns processing, ordering, and timekeeping. The role is based in Timonium, Maryland, and qualifying shifts are eligible for a $3-per-hour premium.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn multiple roles quickly.
Effective, friendly, and professional communication skills.
Ability to multitask and adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to lift, carry, move, or slide products up to and in excess of 45 pounds and frequently reach above head height (10+ inches).
Authorization to work in the United States.
Ability to obtain and maintain ServSafe certification.
Ability to obtain and maintain state-specific store alcohol licensing as needed.

Responsibilities

Uphold standards for cleanliness, freshness, product availability, and customer service throughout the store.
Run assigned shifts in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
Support front-end flow and respond to customer concerns as needed.
Carry out operational tasks including inventory receiving, cold chain compliance, safe handling, price changes, returns processing, ordering, and timekeeping procedures while acting as Shift Lead.
Follow stock-handling processes, including receiving inventory, write-offs, and returns, to support availability and reduce shrink.
Encourage timely and accurate task completion by maintaining focus on priorities and setting a strong example during the shift.
Flex between stocking, cleaning, and promotional merchandising to meet store needs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
