About The Position

The Department of Sociology/College of Arts & Science invites applications for a Sessional Lecturer to teach the following courses during the 2026-2027 Regular Session: SOC 111.3(C15) Fdns in Sociology: Society, Structure, Process during Term One (September to December, 2026) and SOC 112.3(C16) Fdns in Sociology: Social Construction of Everyday Life during Term Two (January to April, 2027). Both courses will be offered as lectures with a specific schedule and expected enrollment limit. A valid driver’s license is required for any off-campus courses. Appointment periods include additional days in recognition of preparation and marking time required. Courses may be cancelled due to low enrolment.

Requirements

  • A minimum of an M.A. degree in Sociology is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required for any off-campus courses.

Nice To Haves

  • A Ph.D. in Sociology or a related discipline.
  • Relevant teaching experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach SOC 111.3(C15) Fdns in Sociology: Society, Structure, Process during Term One (September to December, 2026).
  • Teach SOC 112.3(C16) Fdns in Sociology: Social Construction of Everyday Life during Term Two (January to April, 2027).
  • Prepare and mark course materials.
