About The Position

The Department of Computer Science invites applications for Sessional Lecturers to teach various computer science courses during the 2026-2027 Regular Session. The courses cover a range of topics including Programming Principles and Practice, Developing Object-Oriented Systems, Implementation of Graphical User Interfaces, Introduction to Creative Computing, Principles of Computer Science, Intermediate Data Structures and Algorithms, Software Management, and Introduction to Bioinformatics. All courses are scheduled to be delivered in person in Saskatoon.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a M.Sc. degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional work experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is required for any off-campus courses.

  • Teaching experience will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Teach CMPT 214.3 (Programming Principles and Practice) during Term One (September 2 to December 7, 2026).
  • Teach CMPT 270.3 (Developing Object-Oriented Systems) during Term One (September 2 to December 7, 2026).
  • Teach CMPT 381.3 (Implementation of Graphical User Interfaces) during Term One (September 2 to December 7, 2026).
  • Teach CMPT 140.3 (Introduction to Creative Computing) during Term Two (January 6 to April 8, 2027).
  • Teach CMPT 145.3 (Principles of Computer Science) during Term Two (January 6 to April 8, 2027).
  • Teach CMPT 280.3 (Intermediate Data Structures and Algorithms) during Term Two (January 6 to April 8, 2027).
  • Teach CMPT 371.3 (Software Management) during Term Two (January 6 to April 8, 2027).
  • Teach BINF 351.3 (Introduction to Bioinformatics) during Term Two (January 6 to April 8, 2027).
