About The Position

The School of Environment and Sustainability is seeking Sessional Lecturers to teach specific courses during the 2026-2027 Regular Session. These positions involve delivering lectures and potentially hybrid (virtual) components for courses such as ENVS 401 Sustainability in Action, ENVS 809 PhD Seminary in Sustainability, ENVS 841 Renewable and Clean Energy Systems, and ENVS 826 Climate Change. The courses are scheduled for Term Two of the 2026-2027 academic year, with specific dates and times provided for each course. The role requires candidates to have a strong understanding of interdisciplinary sustainability and the philosophy of the School of Environment and Sustainability (SENS).

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in an interdisciplinary sustainability field or cognate area for ENVS 401.
  • Minimum of a Master's degree in an interdisciplinary sustainability field or cognate area for ENVS 809, ENVS 841, and ENVS 826.
  • Must have knowledge and/or experience with the interdisciplinary approach/philosophy in SENS.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree is preferred for ENVS 401.
  • PhD is preferred for ENVS 809, ENVS 841, and ENVS 826.

Responsibilities

  • Teach ENVS 401 Sustainability in Action during Term Two (January 6 to April 8, 2027), with lectures on Tuesdays/Thursdays from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm.
  • Teach ENVS 809 PhD Seminary in Sustainability during Term Two (January 6 – April 8, 2027), with a TBA course schedule.
  • Teach ENVS 841 Renewable and Clean Energy Systems during Term Two (January 4 to February 12, 2027), with lectures on Wednesdays from 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm (Hybrid delivery).
  • Teach ENVS 826 Climate Change during Term Two (April 5 – 29, 2026), with lectures on Mondays from 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm (Hybrid delivery).
