About The Position

The Toxicology Centre invites applications for a Sessional Lecturer to teach the following course during the 2026-2027 Fall session: Course Number, Section, and Name: TOX 402.3, Section 01, Systemic Toxicology. Term and Course Dates: Fall Session, September 1 to December 31, 2026. CRN: 85159. Delivery Mode: Lecture in Person. Course Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday (10:30 am – 11:20 am). Expected Enrollment Limit: 20. This course will provide an overview of the types of injury produced in specific organs by chemical stressors. We discuss how structural and functional changes at the molecular, cellular, tissue, and organ level can alter organ system function to produce adverse effects (e.g. disease). Students will become familiar with traditional biomarkers of organ injury as well as introduced to new approach methods in systems toxicological assessment. The course is organized into modules according to target organ systems with focus on adverse effects in mammals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a PhD degree or equivalent in Toxicology, Pharmacology or a related discipline.
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Comfortable in teaching the scientific material to undergraduate students.
  • A valid driver’s license is required for off-campus courses.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience lecturing at the university level will be preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of lecture material during scheduled lecture hours
  • Setting up and maintaining the course on Canvas (USask Learning Management System)
  • Marking and providing timely student feedback
  • Invigilating exams/quizzes
  • Student consultation via email and in-person appointments
