About The Position

The Department of Physiology at the University of Toronto is seeking a Sessional Lecturer to teach PSL301H1 (Human Physiology II) during the Summer 2026 session, which runs from July to August 2026. This course is the second part of a two-course survey of human physiology, covering the cardiovascular, renal, blood/immune, respiratory, and GI systems. The estimated course enrollment is 300 students, with an estimated 3 Teaching Assistants.

Requirements

  • PhD in physiology or related discipline.
  • Quercus experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Lecturing experience in cardiovascular physiology.
  • Teaching large classes.
  • Previous teaching in PSL300/301H.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering 8 X 50 min pre-recorded lectures on cardiovascular physiology (lectures are already recorded).
  • Delivering online help sessions.
  • Creating term test questions, final exam questions, make-up tests, and make-up final exam questions.
  • Interacting with the Course Director or the Department of Physiology Undergraduate Coordinator.

Benefits

  • In accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement, the rate of pay for teaching in this course will be $2,456, inclusive of vacation pay (prorated at 25%).
