About The Position

This position is for a Sessional Lecturer to teach MGHA12H3 Human Resource Management at the University of Toronto Scarborough. The course is an introduction to current human resource practices in Canada, focusing on how HRM enhances organizational performance, productivity, and profitability. Topics covered include recruitment, selection, training, career planning and development, and diversity and human rights issues in the workplace. The estimated course enrollment is 60 students.

Requirements

• A master’s degree in organizational behaviour/industrial-organizational psychology OR a master’s degree in social/personality psychology with at least 2 courses at the graduate level in organizational psychology
• A strong academic record
• Previous experience teaching this course or a similar course at the undergraduate level OR experience with activities related to teaching this course (e.g., experience being a teaching assistant, teaching some sessions of the course, experience in course development etc.)
• Must be available throughout the exam period

Nice To Haves

• A Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior or Industrial-Organizational Psychology OR a Ph.D. in Human Resources Management/Social/Personality Psychology with at least 2 courses at the graduate level in organizational behaviour/organizational psychology
• A strong academic record
• Previous experience teaching this course or a similar course at the undergraduate level with good teaching evaluations

Responsibilities

• Design and teaching of a university credit course
• Preparation and delivery of course content
• Development, administration, and marking of assignments, tests, and exams
• Calculation and submission of grades
• Holding regular office hours
• Maintaining reasonable availability for student and administrative contact
• Supervision of T.A. assigned to the course
• Completion of all course grading
• Availability throughout the exam period
