About The Position

The Department of Economics at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) has a Sessional Lecturer position available for the 2025 Fall term. This position is for ECO460H5F, a course providing an overview of financial risks including market risk, credit risk, and operational risk, and introducing tools for analyzing and managing them. The course will be delivered in person. The appointment dates are from September 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026, with potential work extending into January 2027. This posting is in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement, and applications are invited from qualified candidates who are not current University of Toronto students.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated evidence of excellence in teaching and mastery of subject area
  • Previous experience in teaching this, or related course, at university level
  • Demonstrated Excellence in delivering online courses in a remote setting
  • Must not be a current University of Toronto student

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and delivery of course content
  • Supervision of teaching assistants
  • Development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and examinations, including make-up tests
  • Calculation and submission of grades to university officials
  • Holding regular student office hours and maintaining reasonable availability for student contact
