About The Position

This course, EESD15H3 - Fundamentals of Site Remediation, focuses on the removal or attenuation of hazardous organic and inorganic materials in natural systems. It covers the theory behind various remediation technologies, with a particular emphasis on bioremediation techniques and their practical applications. The course also introduces the unique challenges associated with remediating surface and ground water environments, soils, marine systems, and contaminated sediments. The estimated course enrollment is 40 students, and the position is for 0.5 FCE (Full Course Equivalent).

Requirements

  • PhD in Environmental Science or similar discipline is required.
  • Must be available for lectures on Fridays from 12 PM to 3 PM.

  • Previous experience in teaching EESD15 is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties related to the delivery and administration of the course.
  • Prepare lecture materials.
  • Deliver lectures.
  • Create all assignments, term tests, and final exam.
  • Mark student work.
  • Maintain a record of course grades on Quercus.
  • Calculate and submit the final course grades.
