About The Position

The Department of Educational Foundations in the College of Education and the Gwenna Moss Centre for Teaching and Learning invite applications for an Out-of-Scope Sessional Lecturer to teach community-based courses during the Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 Sessions. The courses are EFDT 301.3 (E11) Educator Identity in Contexts Anti Oppressive and Ethical Beginnings and EFDT 313.3 (E12) Pedagogies of Place Context Based Learning. Both courses will be offered as live in-person lectures in Beauval, SK. The schedule will be determined in consultation with the successful applicant, Monday to Friday between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with no evenings or weekends without special permission. A valid driver's license is required for any off-campus courses. Appointment periods include additional days for preparation and marking. Courses may be cancelled due to low enrollment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Master’s degree or equivalent in Education or a related discipline and/or possession of relevant teaching or professional experience.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to engaging with Indigenous ways of knowing.
  • Foster respectful, reciprocal learning environments.
  • Possess knowledge and understanding of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit culture.
  • Possess knowledge and understanding of indigenization and the decolonization of pedagogy to uplift and support Indigenous students.
  • A valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Teach EFDT 301.3 (E11) Educator Identity in Contexts Anti Oppressive and Ethical Beginnings during the Fall 2026 session.
  • Teach EFDT 313.3 (E12) Pedagogies of Place Context Based Learning during the Winter 2027 session.
  • Determine actual course days/times in consultation with the program.
  • Prepare for and mark course materials.
