About The Position

As a Brake System Product Manager, you will work across the entire product lifecycle, supporting both Original Equipment (OE) and Services business objectives. You will collaborate with a diverse network of stakeholders responsible for developing, selling, delivering, and supporting our products throughout their lifecycle. In this role, you will partner closely with Key Account Management, Business Development, Tendering, Commercial Operations (COM-OPS), Product Engineering, Sourcing, Operations, and Services teams within the region, while also working with global Product Management and Engineering teams to ensure alignment between regional market needs and global product strategy. As a member of the Brakes Product Management team, you will be responsible for defining and executing the strategy for your assigned product portfolio across its full lifecycle. Reporting to the Director, Brake System Product Management, you will help drive profitable growth by aligning product offerings with customer needs, market trends, and business priorities across both OE and Services markets. You will own the product roadmap for your assigned portfolio, defining the strategic vision, market positioning, and competitive direction of your products. Through close collaboration with commercial, engineering, sourcing, and operations teams, you will translate customer and market requirements into differentiated solutions that deliver sustainable growth, improve competitiveness, and create long-term value for customers and the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in product management, engineering, sales, business development, or profit center (P&L) management, ideally in the rail industry or at an original equipment manufacturer (OEM).
  • Demonstrated experience developing product strategies, roadmaps, business cases and lifecycle offerings.
  • Experience leading cross-functional work across Engineering, Operations, Sourcing, Finance and Commercial teams.
  • Fluent English is required for this position in order to communicate with colleagues, clients and partners (or suppliers).

Responsibilities

  • Define the aftermarket vision, strategy and multi-year roadmap for assigned product lines based on market entitlement, fleet lifecycle, technology evolution, customer requirements and competitive dynamics.
  • Define, develop and rationalize a scalable portfolio of “core” products, parts, upgrades and service solutions. Establish offering scope, target applications, configuration rules, value propositions and lifecycle plans.
  • Own product-level business cases, target cost, margin architecture, lifecycle value and investment recommendations. Monitor orders, revenue, contribution margin, market share and pipeline health by assigned product, and initiate corrective actions with KAM, BD and functional teams, as deviations from targets exist.
  • Identify product upgrade/evolution potential, cost-reduction opportunities and technology investments for assigned products. Lead cross-functional competitiveness improvements involving LCC, RAMS, engineering, manufacturing, methods, quality and others as required.
  • Synthesize inputs from Key Account Management (KAM), Business Development (BD), customer engagements, field performance, installed-base data and market research. Translate prioritized needs into clear product and service requirements with Product Engineering and other functions.
  • Drive lifecycle readiness for parts, tooling, documentation, repair capability, supplier strategy, training, warranty transition, fleet introduction and long-term support.
  • Maintain product-specific market intelligence, fleet and installed-base visibility, competitor analysis and technology trends. Convert insights into roadmap priorities, offer positioning and risks/opportunities.
  • Support BD and KAM with product expertise, requirements interpretation, technical positioning, business-case inputs and product risk assessment. Support Commercial Operations (COM-OPS) with necessary technical inputs to build/submit a quality offer for products and service.
  • Ensure tenders and projects use approved standard offerings wherever practical. Govern exceptions, product deviations and roadmap commitments in coordination with Engineering, Operations, Sourcing and Quality.
  • Communicate product vision, roadmap and offer strategy to regional stakeholders. Provide product knowledge, tools and training that enable KAM and BD teams to identify, position and execute opportunities consistently.
  • Perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
