Services Architecture Expert (Multiple Positions Available)
About The Position
SAP America, Inc. is hiring multiple Services Architecture Experts at its Newtown Square, Pennsylvania location. The role advises customers by applying broad application, line-of-business, or industry knowledge to translate customer goals into business-driven IT roadmaps and architecture designs aligned with SAP offerings and cloud strategy. The expert designs SAP-centric business, application, data, technology, or enterprise architectures; defines strategic, conceptual, and organizational scope; and helps customers realize business outcomes through cloud solutions and digital transformation. The role also supports sales opportunities, resolves critical customer issues, collaborates with customers, partners, SAP teams, and development teams, and mentors delivery teams. The position uses a hybrid work model and requires up to 60% domestic and international travel to customer sites and SAP offices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field, and seven years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation; alternatively, a master’s degree or foreign equivalent in one of these fields and five years of experience.
- At least five years of experience with cloud migration of SAP applications to hyperscalers such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or Amazon Web Services.
- At least five years of experience designing SAP enterprise architecture.
- At least five years of experience in SAP technical landscape strategy and design.
- At least five years of experience defining and integrating IT landscapes.
- At least five years of experience designing digital transformation roadmaps for enterprise applications.
- At least five years of experience building business process transformation plans using the SAP toolchain.
- Ability to travel up to 60% domestically and internationally to customer sites and SAP offices.
Responsibilities
- Understand customers’ current situations and goals holistically, including their industry and line of business.
- Translate customer goals into business-driven IT roadmaps and architecture designs based on SAP offerings and cloud strategy.
- Operationalize customers’ business strategies and identify the components, approaches, and inputs needed to develop suitable solutions.
- Challenge existing solutions, approaches, and concepts to create state-of-the-art, future-ready outcomes.
- Redefine concepts to support continuous improvement and agility in solution design.
- Clarify expectations among stakeholders and integrate diverse viewpoints into solutions, particularly in challenging cases.
- Collaborate with customers, partners, and SAP teams to support successful implementations.
- Drive knowledge management and innovation activities based on customer experience.
- Collaborate and co-innovate with development teams.
- Explain and apply architectural patterns, including microservice-based, reactive, and cloud-native architectures.
- Support sales deals by articulating deployment scope, design, roadmaps, and estimates.
- Design target-state architectures that support expected business outcomes.
- Define the strategic, conceptual, and organizational scope for SAP-centric IT landscape designs, especially for challenging customer requirements.
- Develop business, application, data, technology, or enterprise architectures with customers, accounting for complex or extraordinary situations.
- Troubleshoot success-critical customer issues related to SAP, regardless of their nature.
- Act in service delivery as a Business Architect, Application (Solution) Architect, Data Architect, Technical Architect, or Enterprise Architect.
- Advise and mentor teams comprising customer, partner, and SAP resources.
