Service Technician- Niccoli Energy
About The Position
The Service Technician installs, troubleshoots, and repairs residential and commercial oil- and/or propane-fired heating equipment and appliances while providing a high level of customer service. The role requires careful attention to customer property, safe and accurate work, and serving as a trusted advisor and Niccoli Energy ambassador in accordance with the company’s Brand Promise. Technicians work independently and as part of the larger team. Duties may also include HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, or electrical work as required by the market, gas-check inspections, and assisting with the training of apprentices and journeymen. The position includes participation in the night and weekend on-call schedule as necessary.
Requirements
- At least three years of relevant oil and/or propane service experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Massachusetts Oil Burner Technician Certificate for service, installation, and repair of oil-fired equipment.
- Ability to pass and possess the applicable Massachusetts Gas Fitter and/or Liquefied Petroleum Installer license required for propane installation, service, and repair.
- Ability to meet Massachusetts testing and licensing requirements applicable to the position.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical.
- Valid motor vehicle driver’s license; driving record must meet company standards and is reviewed at employment and annually thereafter.

- HAZMAT endorsement.
- HVAC, wiring, and/or plumbing experience or licensing.
- Universal 608 EPA certification for AC, refrigeration, or heat pumps.
- CDL.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair oil- and/or propane-fired heating equipment and appliances in accordance with applicable codes, safety requirements, and company policies.
- Perform efficiency tests, tune-ups, and service inspections.
- Perform work safely and accurately to eliminate callbacks and reduce liability.
- Maintain a neat appearance and clean uniform, and provide timely, safe, high-quality customer service.
- Promote company products and services and advise customers on options suited to their needs.
- Maintain a neat and orderly service vehicle and ensure tools and equipment are in safe operating condition.
- Record and report parts and labor for service calls promptly and according to company procedures.
- Maintain and track parts inventories in the service vehicle.
- Participate in the night and weekend on-call schedule as necessary.
- Perform propane gas-check inspections according to applicable codes and company policy without supervision.
- Perform HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical work as required by the market.
- Assist in training apprentices and journeymen.
- Represent the company professionally in interactions with customers and colleagues.
